September Already?

Life has been crazy and busy (and there may have been some excessive Netflix involved in all these months that I’ve been MIA) but I wanted to stop by and say hello 🙂 but mainly to let you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

In the United States alone, 16,000 kids are diagnosed each year. That is WAY TOO MANY kids! Childhood cancer is one of the most underfunded types of cancers. Nobody wants to talk about cute little kids with cancer so it is an out of sight out of mind situation that we have going on.

This year, rather than just make my annual donation and wear my gold ribbon in support, I decided to take a little extra step because really, it’s the least I could do. (I hate to think of all the poor children feeling sick with their parents looking on helplessly while I watch Netflix and complain about traffic and having to deal with annoying people at work. Horrifying!) This is the first September that my Etsy Store exists & I will be donating 50% of all September sales to CURE Childhood Cancer so please stop by and have a look, make a purchase, no matter the amount and if there’s nothing that you like, it’s ok, but please consider making your own direct donation anyway so that by the time that we’re old and gray Childhood Cancer will be a thing of the past. ❤

Party Time!

Hello from The Festive Chick!
Just passing by to say hello and invite you to visit my Etsy Shop where I am in the process of adding various party invitations. So far we have birthdays, baby showers, baptisms, bridal showers, graduations and even a few Save the Date cards and there are many more special event items on the way. 🙂

Come check us out! 😀

Marching into March

Everyone out there is so happy and excited about it being March 1st because that means Spring is around the corner and there is great weather to be had. Well, I live in Florida and it’s pretty hot here alllllllll year around. ALL YEAR. ALL. YEAR. HOT. And so while I do like cold weather, (well, cold for Florida at least) I guess I am ready for some beach and pool weather. I bet you’re probably wondering what brought on all this weather talk (ok,  you’re probably not wondering anything at all, but I’m still going to tell you.) 😉

I had a customer just order 15 of my newest shop item, ceramic cocktail themed coasters you can find here for a bachelorette party weekend cruise.
Jealous! I love cruises, tropical settings and tropical beverages! Bachelorette trips didn’t exist when most of my friends & I got married. (I really should convince them all to plan a weekend getaway. I feel we’re owed. LOL!)

Here are 3 samples of what we have so far and the other picture is how I suggested the Maid of Honor wrap them up for the bridal party. 😀 Cute huh?? (If I do say so myself!!)
If you check this item out on Etsy, you’ll see that they can be done in 15 different colors! Check us out! 😀 😀 and Happy ALMOST Spring!

Farewell February!

Hi fellow bloggers,
It’s me, The Festive Chick checking in to say hello. Work (regular job work & my Etsy work) hasn’t left me much free time for blogging. I’ve been working on expanding my inventory and on my Instagram. (Follow Me @thefestivechick, but only if you want to.) 😉

My shop is definitely a work in progress but it’s improving. February has been verrrrry sloooooow for sales after Valentine’s Day so it has give me time to create new things or fix things and I’m hoping that’ll help. Sometimes I think I’d much rather spend my time working on being a Netflix Chick than being The Festive Chick but then new orders or special request emails come in and I forget all about Netflix. Well not really,  since that’s impossible, but you know what I mean. 😉

I wanted to share a few of my favorites, I hope you’ll like them too. They can all be found
here. And today only you can use Coupon Code LEAPDAY29 for 29% off your order. (I’m supposed to say it expires today but really it doesn’t expire till tomorrow.) 😉

Happy Shopping!! And if you don’t want to shop it’s okay, you can just come visit. 😀

In the Kitchen

So, I got a request from a customer for a personalized/customized  kitchen print. She saw one I’d made with different types of wine & decided she wanted one listing different types of Cuban foods. (Cuban food is kind of a big deal here in Miami, FL) The result was this:

It got me thinking that while this Cuban food print would do well in Miami, I doubt it’d be selling off the shelves on Etsy & so I decided to expand from Cuba to other countries whose own cuisines will do pretty well in Miami & may do well on Etsy. My aunt suggested I start with Spain because not only is it the land of my ancestors, she just really likes Spanish food (aka Comida Española), the results:
And so I will be adding that to Etsy soon, along with a few other countries.

What’s your favorite food?

Photo Gifts

How cute is this 5×7 black & white print of these freezing lovebirds that Mrs. Lovebird had customized with a personal message? You can order your own version here

And well here’s another example of cuteness overload. These adorable, personalized, photo Valentine’s Day cards are being added to the store as we speak.

Check out these and many other items at our Etsy Store. Don’t forget to apply coupon code BLOG15 to get 15% off deducted from your $15+ order.

Happy Shopping!! 😊

Happy Friday!

Yes, another post. Am I on a roll or what? (I’m trying to make up for having been sick & sleeping through most of December I guess.)

Well, I decided I’d add another post for many reasons.

First of all, I added some VERY cute sets of Valentine’s Day Cards to my Etsy shop. I actually made them with children and classroom card exchanges in mind, but who says you should stop giving out cute cards to your friends just cause you’re old and probably not as cute as you were when you were a kid? 😉  And these cards are extra cool cause you can personalize them AND add candy to them and well, who wouldn’t like that?   (*You have to go buy the candy yourself, guys. I’m the Festive Chick not the Candy Chick. Sorry!) 😀

Also, I created a special coupon code to be used on Etsy by any of my blog friends/followers. It’s BLOG15 (creative, I know!) and it will get you 15% off your purchase of $15.00 or more. Consider it an early Valentine’s Day gift from me. 🙂
(Don’t get too excited now.)

And my final reason for today’s post, if you don’t want to buy my stuff, it’s ok. I won’t hold it against you but how about you go and check out my Instagram and follow me. (@thefestivechick) I’m trying to do a better job of Instagramming (is that even a word?) but it’s hard to when you only have a handful of followers.  😦

Well, I think my work here is done. Have a great weekend.

Go on now,  go follow @thefestivechick!! (Pretty Please with sugar on top!) 🙂

1 month till Valentine’s Day!

I know it’s a Hallmark holiday, a fake holiday to pressure you into spending money and whatever else the anti-Valentine’s Day call it, but I don’t care. I love Valentine’s Day! Sure that’s easy to say cause I’m married to someone that makes a pretty good effort to humor me & my love for Valentine’s. All I ask for is a card & that he won’t get too annoyed by my love of red hearts & cutesy stuff. Oh and a present. Of course I want a present. Lucky for him, I’m easy to please, I don’t need diamonds or expensive purses and shoes, (I will accept them but I don’t need them.) 😉  Thoughtful > Pricey in my book.

And with that in mind, I’ll be adding some very cute (if I do say so myself) new items to my Etsy shop in the very near future. Here’s a little sneak preview.

What is it you ask? Well it’s a 5×7 picture (that’s sort of a collage but not really) that will include a picture of you & your Valentine (Or you could add your friends, maybe your dog? Whatever. We don’t judge.) on one side, leaving the other side free & clear for whatever cheesy goodness wording you’d like. It could be whatever! You may want to add lyrics from your song, a meaningful quote, an inside joke or you could keep it simple with just names & a date? The choice is yours. 🙂

Happy almost Friday!!

P.S. Have I mentioned you should drop by my Etsy shop?   😉

Happy New Year – Let’s Get Festive

So, I’ve done a pretty bad job of keeping up with my blog. First there was the usual December craziness. Decorating for Christmas, Christmas shopping, the fun stuff, then there was the not so fun stuff. Getting a horrible cold that turned into Bronchitis during my 2 week Christmas vacation had me sleeping for most of the 2nd half of December.

But I’m back, ready to be productive and festive.  😀

Don’t forget to visit my shop!

Let me introduce myself….

For years I’ve been the unofficial event planner amongst my friends and family. I’ve been coming up with fun party themes and cute ideas before there was Google and Pinterest. 😉 After years of having people tell me I should do this for a living I found some fresh inspiration while planning an 80s & 90s cartoon themed 30th birthday party for my brother. (I don’t know anyone else that’s had a party where you could find the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ducktales and Beavis & Butthead. Ha!) Anyway, so I opened up an Etsy store and posted some festive stuff.

It’s hard to open a store and decide what to sell,  I decided I’d start with cute Christmas labels, a few photo prints that’d make a great gift and that I’d specialize in customizing and personalizing items. (I think that may have something to do with the fact that my very uncommon Hispanic name meant I never got to own any cool stuff with my name (thanks a lot, Mom & Dad!), till now at least, now I can make it for myself!) Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to add more items cause my goal is to get things selling quicker than fresh Krispy Kreme donuts.

My teeny little store with very few items gets lost in the world of Etsy so I decided I’d turn to another love of mine (writing) and start a blog where people could get to know me a little and feel bad for me & head on to my store to buy lots of stuff cause they love all my adorable (and personalized) stuff! It’s a win/win for all of us, I think. 😀 😀

Well that’s enough chatter for my first post, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite items from my store.
